This is the very first block in a cryptocurrency blockchain, which launches the cryptocurrency. Fun fact: Bitcoin’s genesis block was created by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto and included the following message: “..EThe Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second ballout for banks”.
