Bitcoin is Breaking Out

Bitcoin is Breaking Out of the Halving Cycle

One of the most closely watched patterns by Bitcoin observers is its four year halving cycle. For those of you who are unfamiliar, monetary policy is built into the Bitcoin protocol: The amount of Bitcoin that can ever be mined is capped at 21 million Bitcoin, and the mineable reward share (which brings new Bitcoin into existence) is cut in half every four years.

Thus, the Bitcoin protocol demands that the production rate of Bitcoin diminishes every 4 years; and as demand grows and Bitcoin supply becomes more scarce, the overall impact has been Bitcoin’s price skyrocketing.

Analysts have observed that these price increases in Bitcoin have followed a four year halving cycle pattern, whereby Bitcoin reaches a peak and then corrects before being accumulation starts up again. Observers and traders tend to speculate when the next bullish top will form, so they can sell high and buy low. This time may be different.

Expert Bitcoin analyst, Willie Woo, explains how Bitcoin is breaking out of the halving cycle.
